Speaker Lusaka Intervenes after Isaac Mwaura issued statements on Waititu
The speaker to the senate Ken Lusaka intervened after Isaac Mwaura issued statements accusing the embattled Kiambu Governor of stealing and using the country’s money to benefit him. Mwaura who issued the statement in a sitting that was supposed to determine the fate of Kiambu Governor Waititu after the committee that was proposed by Kipchumba was rejected had the senators bring out their different opinions bringing the house to a near chaos state.
“Why have we been called from recess to come and discuss how an individual in many ways stole money from Kiambu people? He is someone who came from Nairobi to our county and stole funds. He later had to take the money back to Nairobi for his personal development. The allegations are so gross and are affecting the service delivery to the residents of Kiambu County.” Said an embittered Mwaura.
He had to be cut short by the house speaker as his statements caused uproar in the house as he took his seat with the whole house having a commotion. The senators were divided into two as some supported Mwaura to continue speaking but others including the majority leader Kipchumba Murkomen had to be up on arms feeling devastated by the statements issued by Mwaura.
Lusaka had a hard time bringing the senators to keep their calm and allowed Mwaura to continue speaking but warning him against the direct and personal attacks on the embattled Kiambu Governor. Taking to the mic, Mwaura expressed how the people were suffering from bad leadership that was being experienced.
He added that a section of senators had received bribes to salvage and reinstate Waititu.” Am happy to have led a revolt on the floor of the house of senate that had a predetermined list to favor Waititu so that his impeachment could fail from the word go. six members have been briefed and met Waititu yesterday in order to save him at the expense of the welfare of people of Kiambu,” said Mwaura. The senators had decided to hold a full house sand determine the fate of the embattled governor instead of the proposed committee.
