Rutos Declaration at Embakasi West
The deputy president has at last spoken on the new turn of events as the TangaTANGA team spoke on supporting the BBI report. Ruto who was speaking in Embakasi West said that the BBI chairperson should create platforms for the common Kenyan citizen to contribute and stage their opinions. He further said that the upcoming BBI forum that will take place in Mombasa and which his team will be in attendance, will not give a chance to the politicians who wanted to create positions for them.
“On BBI, we have all agreed that e don’t want politics of ethnicity and hate. We want politics that bring Kenyans together. In that BBI we want every citizen to be given an opportunity to contribute their views. And that is why we are asking Haji and his committee to create a program so that the mama mboga, makanga, bodaboda, also gives their views. And to the politicians like myself and others, let us not hijack the BBI and make it about politicians, positions and power.
We want BBI to talk about the jobless person here. How will his problems be solved?” Ruto remarked. He added that if there were any changes that would take place it was only right to first allow the citizens to stage their views on the report. He said that it would be best of Kenyans new the state of the economy and their positions in the report.
The deputy president told the citizens that Kenya was for them all but not a section of individuals. The members of Tangatanga one comprising of Ruto’s team promised to back the BBI team which included attending the rallies and forums like the upcoming Mombasa rally. This was stated by Kipchumba Murkomen saying that the BBI team should be ready to welcome them and join hands to see the success of the report.
