Ruto Loses Nyeri Governor Mutahi Kahiga As His Ally And Supporter
The deputy president has said that he has lost one of his close allies from the Mt Kenya region n after the Mombasa meeting. His close friend the Nyeri county Governor, Mutahi Kahiga stated that he regretted supporting Ruto who was out to go contrary to the directive from the head of state, one being his engaging in politics when the president had warned the leaders not to engage in politics but serve the citizens who voted them in first. The Governor reaction came after the Uhuru meeting with some 19 governors in Mombasa.
Mutahi went ahead and stated that he thought that rutos visits to the central region were an agreement between him and the president but to his dismay, he, later came to learn that the deputy president was acting on his own accord.” DP Ruto has been in Nyeri for many times and I have been attending the functions as the county governor. I have however come to realize that things are totally different from what I initially thought,” the Nyeri county boss said.
Kahiga was a great supporter of the deputy president and this was especially seen during a burial ceremony of the mother to Rigathi Gachagua whre the deputy president was in attendance and he was warmly received by Kahiga. It is also said that ten president had held a private meeting with leaders from the Mt. KENYA Region in a bid to unite and regain their grip on the region. In the meeting, the president and the Mt. Kenya region leaders discussed the BBI, uniting the Region as well as implementing agricultural outlines.
