Raila Secret Meeting with Mt. Kenya Region Leaders ahead off BBI Launch in Meru County
The Orange Democratic Movement leader Raila Odinga has on the 23rd of January 2020 met some leaders from the central region ahead of the upcoming Building Bridges Initiative forum set for Saturday in Mombasa. This is in a bid to gain maximum support for the initiative stating that there was no enough amount of opposition to halt the BBI report. The central region will be holding the BBI forum on the 18th February 2020 in Meru County.”
We saw it right to bring Kenyans together and make this country a better place to live in through handshake. The BBI is there to cement National cohesion. It is very misguided and unfortunate for anyone to think that they can sabotage the BBI exercise. This is a peoples exercise and nothing can stop the train from in the direction expected. It will move on and we invite everyone to come on board,” Raila said.
He remarked that the politicians who saw this as forum for politics were going against what people willed but should rather look out for the wellbeing of Kenyans who elected them.” I have never said in want to be the president in 2022 or not. This is how misguided some of this politicians are. The BBI doesn’t even talk about the election n 2022. We don’t want to be part of the tension created by some people in the country would as the people to continually ignore such politicians.” Raila remarked
“There is nothing to hide that the former prime minister and president Uhuru Kenyatta are sharing something to take Kenya to the next stage. Having a cup of tea with Raila is just a sign that we want to get more enlightment,” spoke the Nyeri senator Ephraim Maina who was part of the delegation that met Raila.
