2. Kangundo Road Fire Station in Embakasi West Sub-County
Coming soon....the new Kangundo road fire station in Embakasi West Sub-County.
My administration has so far constructed the Kangundo road fire station and Waithaka fire station which are the first fire stations to be built since the country gained independence in 1963.
We are determined to ensure all 17 Sub-Counties in Nairobi have fully equipped fire stations.
Nairobi had only two fire stations, one at Koja on Tom Mboya street built in 1907 and another at Industrial Area built in 1957.
Through my intervention and that of HE Uhuru Kenyatta we stamped authority by cracking the whip to ensure this funding was put to proper use. For instance we forcefully put a spirited fight against the Land grabbers who had grabbed land earmarked for construction of Mwariro market, The County compesated and relocated all traders at the market and later identified a competent contractor through competitive bidding, the market is today 75% done. Same applied to Karandini Market in Dagoretti South which is now 80% done as well. Kangundo road firestation, the county compensated the land owner after another spirited court fight, identified a contractor, the fire station is now 90% done. Same applied to Waithaka fire station where the county also repossesed its land and the fire station is 95% complete. Drainage was also upgraded between nyayo stadium all the way to South C and some other parts of the city. And the floods which used to sweep away our people are no longer there even after the recent heavy rains.
On this same partnership on light rails we are doing 5 lines
from main Nairobi central railway station. They are 1.Nairobi- Mwiki,-Githurai
-Ruiru 2. Nairobi- Imara Daima- Embakasi Village 3. Nairobi- Syokimau-
Athiriver 4. Nairobi- Kibera- kikuyu 5. Nairobi-Rongai- Kiserian.
Line 1 to be launched anytime now by myself and HE the President.
Also remember France had signed a 2 billion Euro worth of
infrastructure deals in Kenya
on 13/03/2019 when theFrench President Emmanuel Macron visited Kenya, Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta during an event at Nairobi Central Railway Station in Nairobi for construction of a railway line from our traffic-congested city to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, a trip of about 20 kilometres that can take up to two hours by car.
I'm currently in France and this is how the National government funded project by the French will look like once complete in 2021.
A consortium led by France’s largest construction firm Vinci secured a 30-year concession to improve and operate a much needed highway between Nairobi northwest to Mau, a busy stretch of road for passengers and freight that is among the country's deadliest.
Our engineers are still working on construction of the Njiriris bus terminus in Kariobangi South Ward, Embakasi West Sub-County.
Once complete, it will help to ease traffic flow by giving space to matatus that are dropping and picking passengers in the area.
The terminus is located along Mumias Road next to Outering Estate and Pioneer Estate in Kariobangi South Ward.
The terminus will be used by matatus on routes 58-Buruburu, 23-Uhuru/Buruburu/Outering and 36-Kariobangi South/Dandora.

Redhill-Waiyaki way bypass......Solar powered street lights at night....It may be taking longer than you thought, it may be more difficult, but the good news is that it’s not too late. You didn’t miss your chance. What God promised you is still on the way, not a watered-down version, not a substitute blessing, not a make-do promotion, not a partial healing, not a "good enough" marriage.
No, exactly what God promised you is on the way. What you were dreaming about before the delays, what you were excited about before the bad breaks, is still in route. God doesn’t abort a dream, He doesn’t get talked out of a promise, He doesn’t water down what He’s spoken to us.

At lunchtime, he crawls back home then makes the torturous journey back for afternoon lessons. In the evening, the story is the same. This means the teenager, who dreams of becoming a doctor, crawls for 6km every day. So between Monday and Friday, Otyeng crawls for 30km.

16. Unveiling Of Queuing Management System In County Health Facilities
City Hall to unveil Queue Management System in county health facilities
NAIROBI, September, 10, 2019, GPS
The Nairobi City County Government is planning to install a modern Queue Management System in each of its major health facilities to ease congestion and improve service delivery.
The county on Monday penned a deal with UAP Old Mutual Faulu Group Foundation to install the system at the Mama Lucy Hospital in Embakasi.
The system will help handle with ease, the over 1,000 patients seeking medical attention on a daily basis at the busy facility.
According to Mama Lucy Medical Superintendent Dr. Musa Mohamed, the machine will see patients key in their requests in a special vendor machine and consequently given their service ticket numbers.
"This will ensure more patients are attended to and reduce the waiting and patient turnaround time," said Dr. Musa.
The hospital’s management is also planning to add more seats at the waiting bay.
More customer service personnel will also be deployed to help patients who are having difficulties.
The new system is similar to the one being used by banks and other financial institutions.
The Chairman of UAP Old Mutual Faulu Group Foundation Dr. Peter Muthoka said the partnership stems from the foundation's Cooperate Social Responsibility program.
"This is part of our community empowerment programs where health is a major priority and we have found that the sector, despite having undergone tremendous progress, still has room for improvement," said Muthoka.
Mama Lucy Hospital is the main health facility in Nairobi's Eastlands that harbours over 60% of the City Population.
Health Executive Mohamed Dagane said that the county will explore further partnership programs to install the queue management system at Mbagathi, Mutuini and other key county hospitals.
"We know that there is an influx of patients in all our facilities and there is no doubt having the system is the way to go," Dagane said.
He said that the county is also going to hire more nurses and medical personnel to help ease congestion.
Mama Lucy Hospital Board Chairman Joe Aketch hailed the move by Old Mutual Faulu Group Foundation to partner with the hospital in order to improve service deliver to Nairobi residents.
“This hospital is one of the biggest county facilities in Nairobi since it serves more than 1,000 people on a daily basis. We need to embrace technology in order to improve service delivery in all our facilities,” added the former City mayor.
Governor Mike Sonko has asked Dagane and board management to fast track the process and extend the same to other health facilities with the county.
“This is what we promised our great people of Nairobi. We should move with speed and ensure that the process is absorbed. Health matters in Nairobi are among several key issues in my heart and blood stream,” Sonko said.
