"I am sorry for Spreading Covid-19.” -Kilifi County Deputy Governor says
"I am sorry for the pain I have instigated.” These are the words of Kilifi County Deputy Governor Gideon Saburi, who is on the sixth day of isolation at the Coast General Hospital in Mombasa.
“I am very regretful for carrying anxiety on coronavirus spread in Kilifi County and the whole country, and hope that people will find a heart to pardon me,” Mr Saburi told the Saturday Nation on phone.
Mr Saburi, a father of three, also asked Kenyans to perceive government instructions and rules in the fight against the spread of Covid-19, which has slain thousands of people across the world.
“Coronavirus is real. I call upon people to take protection seriously,” he said, count that he stroked bad for having travelled to Germany because he now “bears the responsibility of the virus spread in Kilifi”.
He added that he never did it with a motive and he is a responsible leader also a family man.
According to the government the rules that it has put place says that if a person comes from the abroad, he/she should isolate himself for a period of 2 weeks but Mr., saburi never did it. Now it is upon the government to take an action for what he did.
