COVID 2019 and Tuberculosis (TB) Prevention Measures
STOP SPITTING ON THE STREETS. WACHENI KUTEMA TEMA MATE KILA MAHALI. TUJILINDE KUTOKANA NA KUAMBUKIZA UGOJWA WA TB NA CORONA.
There is a bad habit I have noticed that we Kenyans have. If you are walking in most towns and trading centers it is common to notice saliva, sputum or mucus on the ground. If you are unlucky enough you may as well become the unintended target of saliva missile from a passerby going about their daily business.
This is more pronounced in matatu stages. Children play with the same soil that we potentially poison with dangerous viruses and bacteria. We carry this with our shoes to our homes and spread the pathogens all over. Kenya, we have to stop this stone age habit to prevent the spread of diseases.
I suspect spitting has been a major contributor to the spread of TB. Now we have Corona. Kenya, we have to stop this Stone Age habit. It will kill us if we don't. If you must spit or you have a runny nose, kindly carry several handkerchiefs and wash them regularly. Be responsible, protect others. It could be your loved ones who will indeed contract the disease.
