22 Naivasha Hotel Staffs Quarantined
At least 22 workers at a Naivasha hotel were put in separation after a French tourist, who verified positive for Covid-19, consumed a night at their buildings. Naivasha Deputy County Commissioner Mbogo Mathioya said the tourist check into the hotel on March 10 and left the following day.
Mr Mathioya said the Frenchman is among the eight people who lately tested positive for the new coronavirus.
“A team of health personnel has been posted to hint all persons who may have interrelated with the tourist,” the commissioner told the Nation. Mr Mathioya elucidated that the 22 employees were on duty on March 10. He called the self-isolation move as precautionary.
“The group was verified and none of them showed coronavirus signs but will remain private for the next 14-days,” Mr Mathioya said.
Naivasha Medical Officer of Health George Ndichu said four other persons, who jetted into the country lately, have been asked to self-quarantine. “The four came from Dubai, India and Germany but we have been in interaction with all of them,” he said.
He explained that none of them has shown any signs of Covid-19 but are detecting self-isolation as counselled by the government.
Dr Ndichu said Naivasha Sub-County Hospital has shaped a separation ward with four beds for alleged and confirmed coronavirus cases.
